Alvarion Sharpening Its Claws

Now that mobile WiMAX is being taken much more seriously by service providers and vendors, Alvarion is sharpening its claws.  Alvarion has sold it's cellular mobile business unit to LGC Wireless Inc. for $15 million.  Tzvika Friedman, Alvarion's CEO, stated the company's straightforward reason: to focus all their resources and attention on WiMAX.  The cellular business unit was only bringing in a fraction of the revenue that WiMAX products are bringing in for Alvarion.
